Web browsers

A browser update can break an extension, drop your operating system or move the buttons you use every day. Not sure which to pick? Chromium-based browsers run Chrome extensions; Firefox-based ones run Firefox add-ons. Here are 12 browsers, each with older versions to go back to, and every link goes to the download location named in the publisher’s package data.

What you’ll find here

This page covers desktop web browsers for Windows and macOS: mainstream browsers, privacy-focused builds and developer editions. Some are built on Chromium and others on Firefox’s Gecko engine, so extension support and behavior differ even when two browsers look alike. Open any browser to compare its latest release with older ones and to pick the exact installer, architecture and format you need.

The 12 apps listed here are Brave, Chromium, Firefox Developer Edition (en-US), Google Chrome, LibreWolf, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox (en-US), Mullvad Browser, Opera Stable, Tor Browser, Vivaldi, and Zen Browser. All 12 run on Windows, and 11 also on macOS. Of these, 8 are open source. Between them the site lists 568 versions. Older versions are mostly available for Windows; for macOS the current release is usually the one listed. Everyversion hosts no installers: every download button goes to the download location named in the publisher’s package data, normally the publisher’s own server. For all 12 we downloaded the installers ourselves and re-computed their SHA-256.
