What the installer does
Windows
- Delivered as a Windows Installer package built with WiX (.msi) for x64.
- Installs for all users on the PC, which normally requires administrator rights.
- No custom silent switch is declared; winget falls back to its default for this installer type (
/quiet /norestart). - Declared install modes: interactive, silent, and silentWithProgress.
- Upgrades install over the existing version.
Mac
- Delivered as a macOS installer package (.pkg) for Apple silicon and Intel.
- Runs the installer package
Nextcloud-35.0.2.pkg; package installers usually ask for an administrator password and can place files anywhere on the system. - Adds the command-line tool
nextcloudcmdwhen installed with Homebrew. - The app updates itself, so it may be newer than the version Homebrew lists.
- On uninstall, Homebrew asks the app to quit, stops background services, forgets installer package receipts, and deletes 1 extra file.
- A full “zap” removal also deletes up to 11 support, cache and preference locations in your home folder.
