What the installer does
Windows
- Delivered as a standalone setup program (.exe) for x64.
- Installs for the current user only, so administrator rights are normally not needed.
- Supports unattended install with
--silent. - Declared install modes: silent.
- Upgrades install over the existing version.
Mac
- Delivered as a disk image (.dmg) for Apple silicon and Intel.
- Installs the app
Insomnia.appinto the Applications folder. - Requires macOS 12 or later.
- The app updates itself, so it may be newer than the version Homebrew lists.
- A full “zap” removal also deletes up to 11 support, cache and preference locations in your home folder.
