- Delivered as a ZIP archive that is unpacked containing a portable program that runs without being installed for x64, x86, and ARM64 and a Windows Installer package built with WiX (.msi) for x64, x86, and ARM64.

- Upgrades install over the existing version.
Mac
- Delivered as a disk image (.dmg) for Apple silicon and Intel.
- Installs the app
CMake.appinto the Applications folder. - Adds the command-line tools

- A full “zap” removal also deletes up to 3 support, cache and preference locations in your home folder.
Overview
CMake is an open-source, cross-platform family of tools designed to build, test and package software. CMake is used to control the software compilation process using simple platform and compiler independent configuration files, and generate native makefiles and workspaces that can be used in the compiler environment of your choice.
