What the installer does
Windows
- Delivered as an NSIS (Nullsoft) setup program (.exe) for x64 and ARM64, a Windows Installer package built with WiX (.msi) for x64 and ARM64, and a ZIP archive that is unpacked containing a portable program that runs without being installed for x64 and ARM64.
- The manifest does not state an install scope.
Mac
- Delivered as a disk image (.dmg) for Intel (x64) and Apple silicon (ARM64).
- Installs the app
Bruno.appinto the Applications folder. - The app updates itself, so it may be newer than the version Homebrew lists.
- A full “zap” removal also deletes up to 6 support, cache and preference locations in your home folder.
Overview
Bruno is a fast, Git-friendly, and open-source API client, aimed at revolutionizing the status quo represented by Postman, Insomnia and similar tools out there.
Bruno stores your collections directly in a folder on your filesystem. We use a plain text markup language, Bru, to save information about API requests.
You can use git or any version control of your choice to collaborate over your API collections.
Bruno is offline-only. There are no plans to add cloud-sync to Bruno, ever.
