## Overview

Parsec is a proprietary freeware desktop capturing application primarily used for playing games
through video streaming.

Using Parsec, a user can stream video game footage through an Internet connection, allowing one to
run a game on one computer but play it remotely through another device.

Although its main focus is gaming, Parsec can also be used as low-latency desktop sharing software.

### What the installer does
- Delivered as an NSIS (Nullsoft) setup program (.exe) for x64.
- Offers both a per-user and an all-users installer.
- Must be run with administrator rights.
- Supports unattended install with `/silent /norun /nocleanuser`.
- Shows up in Windows “Installed apps” as “Parsec”.
- The manifest blocks in-place upgrades through winget.

### What the installer does
- Delivered as a macOS installer package (.pkg) for Apple silicon and Intel.
- Runs the installer package `parsec-macos.pkg`; package installers usually ask for an administrator password and can place files anywhere on the system.
- On uninstall, Homebrew asks the app to quit and forgets installer package receipts.
- A full “zap” removal also deletes up to 4 support, cache and preference locations in your home folder.
- The cask does not pin a checksum for this download (an unversioned URL), so the file can change without notice.
