- Delivered as a macOS installer package (.pkg) for Apple silicon and Intel.
- Runs the installer package `Malwarebytes-Mac-5.28.4.4244.pkg`; package installers usually ask for an administrator password and can place files anywhere on the system.
- The app updates itself, so it may be newer than the version Homebrew lists.
