What the installer does

Windows

  • Delivered as a Windows Installer package (.msi) for x64, x86, and ARM64.
  • Installs for all users on the PC, which normally requires administrator rights.
  • No custom silent switch is declared; winget falls back to its default for this installer type (/quiet /norestart).
  • Registers the ms-excel://, ms-powerpoint://, ms-visio://, and ms-word:// link protocol.
  • Associates with the file types .123, .602, .bau, .cdr, .cgm, .cmx, .csv, .dbf, .dif, .doc, .docm, and .docx and others.
  • Needs these winget packages first: Microsoft.VCRedist.2015+.x86, Microsoft.VCRedist.2015+.x64, and Microsoft.VCRedist.2015+.arm64.
  • Upgrades install over the existing version.

macOS

  • Delivered as a disk image (.dmg) for Intel (x64) and Apple silicon (ARM64).
  • Installs the app LibreOffice.app into the Applications folder.
  • Adds the command-line tools gengal, regview, senddoc, uno, unopkg, uri-encode, xpdfimport, and unoinfo when installed with Homebrew.
  • A full “zap” removal also deletes up to 4 support, cache and preference locations in your home folder.
