Release notes: Rider 2026.2.3.1 hotfix is now available. In Rider 2026.2.3, we started testing a new Files view with a small group of users. This view shows the entire repository rather than only the file system view for the current solution folder. We found that this view can slow Rider down. The slowdown is hard to trace back to the Files view, so you might not realize what's causing it. For this reason, we've disabled the view in this update for everyone, including users who enabled it themselves. If you still want the repository view, you can turn it back on: in the Explorer tool window | the More options icon | the Enable Files view option. If Rider gets slower after you turn it on, try turning it off again first. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Release notes: Rider 2026.1.3 is out with the following changes: Wayland support on Linux Rider 2026.1.3 brings native Wayland support to Linux users in supported desktop configurations. Fixes address failures in evaluating deployment properties, uploading APKs, and building across .NET 9 and .NET 10 targets, along with several problems that prevented reliable Android debugging. Key issues resolved: - RIDER-137704 Deployment properties can now be evaluated when deploying or building MAUI Android apps. - RIDER-132927 Debugging in the Android Emulator no longer fails to start with a "Failed to parse Activity Name" error. - RIDER-132740 Resolved a failure when uploading the application APK file to the device. - RIDER-135767 MAUI .NET 10 Android deployment no longer breaks when adding the net10.0 target framework for unit testing. - RIDER-137441 MAUI apps now build correctly even with the ReSharper Build option disabled, addressing a missing 'net9.0' target in project.assets.json. - RIDER-137742 Addressed another case where the application APK file failed to upload to the device. - RIDER-136581 Running .NET 10 MAUI Android Release builds directly from Rider no longer crashes the app on launch due to missing symbols. - RIDER-138412 Restored the ability to debug Android apps. Release notes: Rider 2026.1.2 is out with the following changes: Package Manager Console access update In Rider 2026.1.2, the Package Manager Console tab has been removed from the NuGet tool window. The functionality remains fully available via the predefined Package Manager Console session in the Terminal tool window. When we introduced NuGet PowerShell support in Rider 2026.1, we offered it in two places and planned to carry forward only one. Based on usage data and product fit, the Terminal workflow won. All NuGet PowerShell commands, including Entity Framework Core commands like Add-Migration, Update-Database, and Scaffold-DbContext, are available from the Terminal tool window. For the full list of changes, please refer to the release notes.

Release notes: Rider 2026.1.0.1 comes with the following fixes: In the recent 2026.1 release, native Wayland support in Rider was prematurely enabled by default on Linux. This caused compatibility issues that prevented several key UI elements such as the Monitoring and dotMemory tool windows from rendering correctly. We are now temporarily disabling Wayland support to restore your full access to all monitoring and profiling tools while we continue to finalize our native Wayland support.

Release notes: Rider 2025.3.1 is out with the following changes: Next edit suggestions (NES) Rider 2025.3.1 introduces next edit suggestions, a major new capability from JetBrains AI Assistant. NES analyzes the edits you make and proposes follow-up changes elsewhere in the file to help keep your code consistent as you work. Suggestions appear inline as you type, much like code completion, and are highlighted in light purple. When updates involve other parts of the file, Rider prompts you to review and apply them. Data sharing for better AI in JetBrains IDEs This update delivers the refined, optional data-sharing functionality previewed earlier this year. Its purpose is to improve the reliability and quality of AI-powered features by learning from real usage patterns, always under your control. - No data is shared unless you explicitly opt in. - Organizations manage participation at the admin level. - Individual users can adjust their preferences at any time. - For non-commercial users, detailed data sharing is enabled by default, but no information is collected until after the in-IDE notice appears. This build also delivers important bug fixes and addresses several security vulnerabilities. More on these and other changes included in this build in our blog post.

Release notes: Rider 2025.3.0.4 is out with the following updates: JetBrains AI upgrades - Native support for Junie and Claude Agent inside the AI Chat window. - Transparent AI quota tracking inside the IDE - Bring Your Own Key (coming soon) Game development Rider now provides cloud-powered multi-line code completion for shaders in Unity, Unreal Engine, and Godot projects. For Godot developers, cloud completion suggestions are also available for GDScript files. Working with databases Rider replaces the term query console with query file – because consoles have essentially always been files, and it's time the UI reflected that. We've also simplified the workflow, making it more discoverable and consistent. You can learn more about the change in this post. Learn more about these updates from our blog post. This update also brings a number of bug-fixes and stability improvements, including a fix for excessive memory usage when opening large solutions [RIDER-132952]. Release notes: Rider 2025.1.2 is out with the following updates: Mixed mode debugging [Beta] This update introduces a beta version of mixed mode debugging – a capability that lets you debug both .NET and C/C++ code in a single session. The current implementation supports only the Mono Windows x64 scenario. To enable the mixed mode debugging in Rider 2025.1.2, go to Help | Find Action, type in Registry, and open it. Then search for the rider.debugger.enable.mono.mixed.mode flag name and check the box to enable it. If you encounter any issues while using the beta version of this feature or would like to share feedback, please leave a comment to this ticket. Notable fixes: - Rider no longer fails to create an IIS virtual directory when starting an IIS Run/Debug configuration. [RIDER-122091] - We've resolved an issue where rider.stacktrace.filters lead to excessive CPU usage and made the IDE unresponsive. [RIDER-124432] - Resolved an exception where the key 'Struct' was missing in the internal dictionary. [RIDER-117711] - Clicking on Cancel in the Clear Read-Only Status dialog no longer results in unintended file changes. [RIDER-123001] - MSBuild variables are now properly expanded in launchSettings.json. [RIDER-123106] - Docker Compose configurations now start all required services as expected. [RIDER-124693] - The debugger no longer tries to attach to non-dotnet services in Docker Compose projects, preventing startup issues. [RIDER-124622] - F# script files are now analysed correctly without the IDE throwing resolve errors. [RIDER-124345] - The correct target framework for MAUI apps can once again be successfully specified in the Launch Settings. [RIDER-123898] - Rider now correctly handles the renaming of Unity properties with serialized backing fields by suggesting the FormerlySerializedAs attribute. [RIDER-82634] - The Use new cross-platform dotTrace Viewer by default setting is once again respected. [DTRC-31648] - The correct operation of the Open in Legacy Viewer action for performance snapshots has been restored. Upgrade your solution file to enjoy the benefits! With Rider, you can now switch to the new format hassle-free right from the Solution Explorer. Release notes: Rider 2024.2.5 Has Been Released! For versions 2024.2 and newer, certain users encountered troublesome behavior in Rider (RIDER-116340) where file analysis would stop, resulting in the loss of syntax and semantic highlightings, navigation, and other smart features. Only restarting Rider or invalidating the cache would occasionally provide a temporary solution. However, we have successfully resolved this critical issue, and updating to the latest build will ultimately restore everything to normal. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this issue! Here is the list of other notable fixes: - The Go to definition action on an external symbol opens the file and scrolls down again to the definition of that symbol (RIDER-115756). - The Ctrl+C shortcut to cancel a process works again in the embedded console (RIDER-116718). - The Delete and Backspace shortcuts no longer misbehave in the Solution Explorer’s search bar (RIDER-111046). - Modifying an sln file no longer causes an internal crash in Rider while in remote development mode (RIDER-116778). To see the whole list of fixed issues, please visit this page.

Release notes: Rider 2024.2.3 is out with the following changes: Code coverage Reworked continuous testing workflow We've reworked the continuous testing workflow to improve usability: - Before: Each unit test session could be converted into a continuous testing session, which could lead to confusion when there are multiple sessions running. - Now: There is a single, separate continuous testing session. This change makes it easier to manage and understand your testing workflow. Continuous testing indicator Rider has a new icon/indicator for continuous testing. The icon shows the current testing state, including whether there are any failed tests. In addition, it provides several quick actions: enabling or disabling continuous testing, viewing coverage results, toggling code highlighting, and more. Adjustable code coverage highlighting colors Now, you can adjust the colors used to highlight code coverage in the editor. The colors are applied to coverage markers in the gutter, line background, and coverage progress bar, and can be configured individually. Notable bug fixes - Rider now renders the href attribute correctly in XML documentation for a wider range of tags, namely <see> and <seealso>. [RSRP-440682] - We've resolved an issue where running an instance of JetBrains Rider for Unreal Engine game development was causing hitches for other applications. [RIDER-116060] - Explicit tests are no longer executed when Rider is running all tests. [RSRP-498451] - We've restored the ability of Rider's debugger to attach to projects with Alpine-based Docker images. [RIDER-115068] - Rider is once again able to run an application in a Docker container in debug mode on macOS. [RIDER-115759] - We fixed a bug causing unresolved symbols to appear in test descriptions when debugging is stopped from the Debug tool window. [RIDER-112650] For the full list of resolved issues included in this update, please refer to our issue tracker.

- Installs the app `Rider.app` into the Applications folder.
- The app updates itself, so it may be newer than the version Homebrew lists.
- On uninstall, Homebrew asks the app to quit.
- A full “zap” removal also deletes up to 7 support, cache and preference locations in your home folder.
